Matrix Algebra and Determinants

This week concerns vectors, matrices, and determinants. The goal is to expand our knowledge of tools from linear algebra by explaining how vectors and matrices can be multiplied by each other. Also the important concept of linear independence will be treated. In some cases so-called determinants are used to determine whether vectors are linearly independent.

Preparation and Syllabus

This week covers sections 7.1, 7.2, and 7.3 until equation (7-10) from [07 - Vectors and matrices] and sections 8.1, 8.2 until Example 8.14, and 8.3 until Corollary 8.26 from [08 - Determinants].
